Local Attractions

Whether the sun is shining or the weather indifferent, within a radius of 20 miles there is so much to see and do. Only two miles away is the City of Truro, with its Cathedral, Royal Cornwall Museum, theatre, shops, many coffee houses and eating places, and river trips to Falmouth. We are blessed with golden sandy beaches, bracing surf, rocks and cliffs on the north coast, and a gentler landscape on the south coast, with spectacular walks along both coasts.

From the farm, the walk to the creekside hamlet of St Clements, through the woods and along the river, is very popular. There is an abundance of bird life to be seen, and an extended walk across the fields to Malpas will take you to The Heron riverside pub, and here on a summer's evening the herons can be seen coming in to roost.

Well worth a visit are Trewithen Gardens, Caerhays Castle and Gardens, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the very well-known Eden Project. Trelissick, Trerice and Glendurgan National Trust properties are within easy reach.

The Roseland Penisula is on our doorstep. Visit St Just in Roseland, St Mawes and St Anthony Head. Further afield, but within easy reach by car, are Falmouth and the National Maritime Museum, Helston and the Lizard peninsula, Penzance, Land's End, the Minack open air theatre at Porthcurnow, St Ives, Perranporth and Newquay. For hikers there are miles of footpaths around Penwith and Bodmin Moor, and for cyclists the Coast to Coast Tramway Trail at Bissoe.

There are many good pubs serving good food in the surrounding villages, or after your day out come and relax in our large lounge and garden.
